ABOUT US
Here at the Campbell’s house, we have been drinking and using RAW MILK since 1991 and the reason we started drinking it was because our daughter was diagnosed with food allergies. The only dairy product that she was able to have was raw and it worked like a charm. Needless to say she has out grown them and now living a healthy active life.
Our children got interested in dairy cows somewhere during this transformation process. Our daughters began showing Dairy Cattle in the Johnson County area at a young age. As they grew older and we had a son all three of them became very competitive in the Dairy Cattle shows both major and here in Johnson County. First this was just a way to provide a learning experience for our children but as we got deeper into it we were able to begin milking to raise other animals on our farm. The short story is that the CAMPBELLS CLASSIC DAIRY is the result of our children showing and learning with our dairy cattle for the previous 9 years. We have the experience of milking over these years and with all the requests from consumers wanting to purchase the milk, we now have the permit to fulfill those requests.
Regina and I both were raised on small farms and as you may know, kids get attached to animals very quickly. To make a long story short, our young heifers became cows and cows naturally produce milk. Once the older children moved off to college we were stuck with a lot of producing cows that would not sell for a fraction of what we had in them. Everybody has jokingly told us that we might as well go ahead and start a dairy while others just wanted milk and we could not let them have it. We raised a lot of calves and pigs but that still didn’t cover the feed bill. After loosing our investment at the sale on some nice registered Holsteins as well as the few grade cattle we had, we decided to go into business. We applied for a permit from the state of Texas and we were approved!
Our hope is that this operation will grow to the point where we don't have to worry about my day job any more. We hope to see the day when our dairy farm is all we will need to provide for our family and farm. We look forward to making this operation self sufficient. We also plan on having a wind mill as well as a methane digester to power the vacuum pump and lights to the dairy barn to make the farm more green! We need utilities but this operation needs to be reliable even if the grid is not.
Available this spring, we plan on planting a small vegetable garden where people can pick their own vegetables while stopping in to purchase fresh Raw Milk, farm fresh eggs, and milk for cheese.
Our goal is to provide "real milk for real people" and earn a living for ourselves while doing it. We pray that Gods' blessings will be on Campbells Classic Dairy to the point that we can provide employment for others as we believe "all things are possible through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. "
Blessings to You All
